Gallantree First to See the Light in Speyside

Some 58 runners braved the run through a long dark tunnel, which forms part in the Speyside 10 mile road race on Sunday, August 23. Forres Harrier Lloyd Gallantree (MV40) won the Moray Road Runners’ race in a time of 58:06. Carnegie’s Jacqui Higginbottom (FV40) took more than two and a half minutes off of her PB to win the Women’s Race in 65:43.

Men’s Race

Just five seconds behind Gallantree was Garioch’s Graham Donaldson (MV35) who finished second in 58:11, whilst Moray’s Steve Reeve (MV) earned third place in 58:48.


Women’s Race

In a successful day for Moray Road Runners, Michelle Green (FV35) finished second, of twenty five women racers, with a time of 69:30. Nairn’s Maureen Mackie (FV40) continued her recent good form, which saw her winning the Fishie Tower 10k earlier this month, by earning third spot in 73:38.

John Alexander (MSV) closed the race, finishing in 58th position with a time of 1:40:53.

Metro Aberdeen’s Jane MacAskill (FV50), who finished in 47th position in a time of 1:30:17 told SCOTTISH RUNNING GUIDEI enjoyed this friendly wee race, nice route, nice countryside and a fast course.”
