Livesy Follows the Herring

Forres Harriers Ben Livesy won the Follow the Herring 10k road race in a time of 33:32. The RAF man beat Jeremy Whittet of Keith & District by almost two minutes (35:31) with Peterhead’s Alan Reid earning third spot in 36:15. Fraserburgh’s Gillian Cardno-Strachan won the Women’s Race in 42:28. Unattached Fiona Macritchie was second in 43:36 followed by Lindsay Bray in 44:42.

Warm and Hilly

A total of 174 runners completed Sunday's race, in glorious sunshine, around the beautiful Moray Firth Coast village of Portsoy. Speaking to SCOTTISH RUNNING GUIDE Mary Davies, who finished in 59:56, said: " It was a very warm sunny day, a little too warm for running and the course was very hilly. Nevertheless it was still a brilliant race."
