Last Dash At Speed Of Light

8 FEB2012

Speed of Light

With 2500 runners already signed up to take part in the inaugural event entitled Speed of Light, organisers NVA have launched their final call for participants. Part of the Edinburgh International Festival and London 2012 activities, the event will see Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh illuminated through a series of mass participation performances.

From Thursday, August 9 through to September 1, hundreds of runners will activate specially designed light suits, illuminating the hillside. Each of the 2500 runners who have already pledged to participate in NVA's Speed of Light are of different running abilities.

Angus Farquhar, Creative Director at NVA, commented: "Speed of Light is a challenging new work for NVA which will see us collaborating with thousands of runners. It is a runner's dream to be part of making such an extraordinary collective visual statement."

For more information on the event and details of how to register, visit the Speed of Light official website.
