Marcothon Trio Record Run 20

20 DEC2011

Scottish Running Guide Marcothon runners (l to r) Stevie Bell, Terry Brennan and Rory McGinlay

The Scottish Running Guide Marcothon team is still on course to complete the 31 day endurance test with Rory McGinlay, Stevie Bell and Terry Brennan all having logged around 100 miles. Despite assorted colds and sniffles, and tightening calves and hamstrings the trio have ticked off 20 days and are now set for the home straight.

The Marcothon challenge - run every day in December, a minimum of 3 miles - has been a tough one as participants have had to battle through gale-force winds, ice-bound pavements and freezing temperatures (not to mention Hurricane Bawbag!).

Scottish Running Guide's Marcothon team has been inspired by excellent reports from friend Peter Rainey who has undergone a series of radiotherapy treatment In London this month. Peter is now back home in Glasgow and delighted that the team's fund-raising efforts for his favourite charity the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation are going so well. With Scottish Running Guide's pledge of £1 for every mile that Rory, Stevie and Terry run - they look likely to total in excess of 450 over the 31 days - and £500 plus donations already received the team's target of £1,000 is looking very doable.

If you would like to support Rory, Stevie and Terry's Marcothon appeal for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation visit their justgiving page.
