Christmas Cracker Countdown

11 NOV2011

Christmas Angel

jogscotland, Scotland's recreational running network, have announced the date for this year's Christmas Cracker 5k. The date for your diaries is Sunday, December 4, when the event, in association with Run 4 It and North Lanarkshire Leisure, will return to Strathclyde Park.

Not only does the jogscotland Christmas Cracker guarantee a fun day out for all the family, but it is also the perfect goal to boost your motivation levels now the darker, colder weather is upon us. The cold, dark winter nights can prove a challenge to training regimes. To keep motivated, why not set yourself a goal to take part in a festive event like the Christmas Cracker - a scenic 5k walk, jog or run around beautiful Strathclyde Loch.

What's more, jogscotland members can train together at one of their local jogscotland groups. This will turn your training into a social affair and group members will motivate each other to keep working towards getting to the finish line at the Christmas Cracker. What's more, running with a group is much safer than running alone after dark.

Last year the event attracted an enthusiastic 500 strong Christmas-clad bunch all keen to experience a fun filled festive walk, jog or run.

The course will be chip timed and all participants will receive a t-shirt, a goody bag and a medal. Secret Santa spot prizes will be handed out for best fancy dress. The course is suitable for all abilities, for participants aged 11 or over on the day of the event.
Numbers are limited for the Christmas Cracker, so dust down your trainers, grab your friends and family and your best Christmas outfit and join in the festivities by registering online.
