Tayside and Angus

back to menu

You'll find some of Scotland's most beautiful scenery in Angus and Tayside - a great coast- line, famous glens, admired lochs and rivers. A countryside that provides excellent running terrain and routes for popular races; and cities, Dundee and Perth, that are great hubs for a wealth of facilities, services and specialist running retailers.

Dundee is home to some great races throughout the year, including the Templeton 10 and the Dundee Half Marathon while further north the Glen Clova Half and the Arbroath Ladies 10m race are both classics.

Angus offers some lovely coastal and inland locations and welcoming running clubs, like the Arbroath Footers. Check out our list of clubs and groups to find one near you and move your running up a gear.

A great resource in the area is the specialist running stores. Lorna Black is the manager at Sweatshop Dundee, and a real enthusiast, while the arrival of Run-4-It at Dock Street, Dundee where Doug Wilson is in charge, is a big boost. Also Frank Ewen at Campus Sports in Perth leads a knowledgeable team.

In this section of the site SCOTTISH RUNNING GUIDE focuses on Tayside and Angus - its clubs, running groups, facilities and services.
